FAQs: Can I Get My COVID-19 and Flu Vaccine at the Same Time?
The COVID-19 pandemic has sparked questions about vaccines, including flu vaccines. Stay tuned as we share updates and answer common questions about the flu as it relates to COVID-19.
Can I Get My Flu and COVID-19 Vaccines at the Same Time?
Yes! While originally the CDC and others did not recommend getting any vaccine at the same time as COVID-19, the updated guidelines allow for co-administration of COVID-19 and any vaccine, including flu.
The original guidelines that suggested not to get COVID-19 and other vaccines at the same time were in place to be extra careful. Now that we have so much data about the safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines, there is no reason not to get multiple vaccines at once.
In fact, it’s a common practice to get multiple vaccines at once and doesn’t make the vaccines less effective.
To keep yourself and your family healthy, get your COVID-19 vaccine as soon as you are eligible, continue to wear your mask, practice social distancing, and wash your hands frequently. Don’t forget to get your flu vaccine this fall, and it could also be the perfect time to get vaccinated for COVID-19 if you haven’t already! Check out our Flu Facts to learn more.
