Amber McCarthy

Co-Secretary

Amber McCarthy is a current Board Member for Families Fighting Flu, a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to saving lives and reducing hospitalizations by protecting children, families, and communities against influenza through education and advocacy. Amber originally came to Families Fighting Flu in 2015 following the passing of her 3-year-old daughter, Ayzlee. Amber has served on the Board of Directors for the organization since 2019. She is a respiratory therapist and health coach who lives in Iowa with her husband Jim and children, Easton and Irelynd. Amber is also a member of her Church’s Parish Education committee and is active in school activities to help support her children. Amber and her family sponsor flu clinics in their surrounding communities to honor Ayzlee and to help those that cannot afford flu vaccination to receive one at no cost. They also work with the local public health offices and school districts, along with supportive businesses in the area, to help promote flu vaccination to people of all ages.
