Who is a Flu Champion?
Flu Champions are advocates who are interested in educating and advocating about flu. Anyone can help us fight the flu by distributing materials, holding flu vaccination events, promoting awareness on social media, and fundraising.

Learn how Flu Champions make a difference:
Sina
Sina came to Families Fighting Flu as part of a collaboration with the YMCA. She works to educate K-8th graders and loves how eager they are to learn new information.
“Families Fighting Flu has done a great job of making information about the flu accessible and easy to understand. I’ve used comic books, posters, and fact sheets to teach youth important information about the flu.”
Faith’s Flu Vaccination Events
Faith is a Flu Champion from Georgia. She holds on-site flu vaccination events at her workplaces. Faith uses Families Fighting Flu’s materials to advertise the events and motivate people to get vaccinated.
“I believe encouraging flu vaccination has a great benefit to employee morale and the overall business. It shows employees that we are concerned for their health and wellbeing as well as helping prevent illness, which could potentially slow down the business.”
The Stein Family
The Stein Family co-founded Families Fighting Flu following the death of their 4-year-old daughter, Jessica. Parents Gary and Doris serve on the Board of Directors and all three children, Eric, Johnny, and Katie, serve on the Junior Board. The family also hosts a bi-annual fundraiser called Rock Out The Flu.
“It’s rewarding to give back to the community through advocacy about an issue that is near and dear to my family.”
Zenab
Zenab came to Families Fighting Flu as part of a collaboration with the YMCA. She works to educate K-8th graders about flu using Families Fighting Flu’s materials to create a fun experience for all.
“Hands-on activities about flu are one of the best ways to learn and, most importantly, have fun! It’s really rewarding to see how students leave with more information about the flu when we can debunk myths.”
Finding Flu Vaccines in Jackson, MS
The Jackson Free Clinic is run by medical students at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. When they came to FFF after being unable to find flu vaccines, we worked together by making connections that helped them find vaccines to administer at no cost to patients in need. Thank you to JFC for their hard work in educating about and providing vaccines!
“JFC reached out to FFF for guidance and assistance in finding flu vaccines. Through our partnership, we worked together to obtain vaccines, provide FFF’s educational material to patients, and share the importance of flu vaccination to the uninsured in Mississippi.”
